“SOLIDWORKS 2018” offers an end-to-end integrated solution for the design-to-manufacturing process that enables companies of all sizes to rethink their approach to manufacturing parts and products and quickly bring innovative ideas to market.

Powered by Dassault Systèmes’ “3DEXPERIENCE” platform, the new application supports a company’s complete design through manufacturing strategy with solutions that simplify interactions between disciplines throughout the workflow of product development.

“SOLIDWORKS 2018 aims to revolutionize the product development and manufacturing process for SMBs and start-up and enable them to move up the value chain,” said PM Ravikumar, Senior Manager, Dassault Systèmes, Professional Channel SOLIDWORKS India.

With it, teams can collaborate simultaneously to more quickly and cost-effectively design a product or part, validate its function and manufacturability, manage its data and associated processes, streamline and automate its manufacturing, and inspect it.

“With ‘SOLIDWORKS 2018’, we plan to address the needs of key verticals such as automotive and components, aviation, defense manufacturing, and electrical machinery,” Ravikumar added.

One of the key features is “SOLIDWORKS CAM”, a new application that provides rules-based machining with knowledge capture to enable automation of manufacturing programming.

“SOLIDWORKS 2018 brings more than just a smarter approach to manufacturing parts or products, it helps companies turn imagination into innovation and build ecosystems,” said Gian Paolo Bassi, CEO of SOLIDWORKS, Dassault Systems.
