Venture Minerals (VMS) has appointed mining engineer Glenn Van Vlemen as Project Development Manager to lead the feasibility study for its underground tin-tungsten project development project at Mount Lindsay in Tasmania.
Mr. Van Vlemen has over 30 years of experience in Australia and overseas in mining and engineering.
Venture says he led the implementation of long-term business strategies for resource companies such as BHP Nickel, WMC Gold, Central Norseman Gold, Croesus Mining, Munali Nickel and Oceana Gold and conducted numerous studies, then implemented the developments.
Geoff Beros was also appointed to Venture’s feasibility study team as a metallurgical consultant to Mr. Van Vlemen.
“Venture is fortunate to have engaged a very experienced underground mining engineer who has worked in tin and is therefore well placed to lead the updated Mount Lindsay feasibility study,” said Managing Director Andrew Radonjic.
“Glenn’s appointment coincided with the completion of the metallurgical drilling program, an important milestone for the company as it progresses through the study.
Venture says the latest results from the metallurgical program continue to provide “exceptional tin-tungsten drill intersections” in high-grade shoots from the Main Skarn and Skarn No. 2 deposits.
The intersections included 158.5 meters grading 0.8% tin and 0.1% tungsten trioxide 78m from the main Skarn deposit and 99m grading 0.3% tungsten trioxide 63m from the n deposit. 2 from Skarn.
Mount Lindsay, which Venture says is one of the largest undeveloped tin projects in the world, has been federally classified as a critical mining project.
Shares of VMS rose 4.76% to 4.4 cents at 1:59 p.m. AEDT.
